The Lion Rampant – Maple Bay

The Lion Rampant offers one of the most beautiful ocean views on Vancouver Island — but on this visit, the dinner service didn’t live up to expectations. After seating ourselves, we waited nearly 30 minutes without acknowledgment from staff.

Eventually I flagged someone down and ordered the buffalo wing special with a Greek salad. The wings were dry and undersized, and the salad lacked feta, olives, and seasoning — though it looked nice.

The fish dish on the table was decent but small. The bright spot? A flavorful remoulade that paired perfectly. Unfortunately, service disappeared after the food arrived.
